The ASCAN 2000™ is a stationary, computerized, full-body/full-length ultrasonic inspection system for oilfield tubulars up to 13 3/8” O.D. The ASCAN 2000™ provides superior flaw detection and wall thickness measurement. The software digitally displays the inspections results in color and can be saved for future viewing. The scanning heads utilize immersion transducer technology which provides a cleaner and more consistant signal compared to other methods. The ASCAN 2000™ is designed to meet most industry requirements set forth by API, DS-1, etc.
Note: The ASCAN 2000 is customizable to fit your requirements and specifications. Please inquire to learn more.

The system is calibrated on a standard at the beginning of the job. The pipe is rolled from the pipe racks onto the hydraulic loader/unloader arms then centered to be positioned onto the rotation table. Hydraulic pipe lift/lower arms lower the pipe onto the rotation table. As the pipe rotates the inspection head is lowered and the trolley, positioned at the end of the rotations table, moves down the length of the pipe. Couplant is automatically applied during the inspection process. The operator observes the inspection data in the software. The inspection head is raised off the pipe as it reaches the end. The pipe is unloaded from the rotating table by the hydraulic loader/unloader arms and the process is repeated.
